Joker: A Bad Boy Biker Romance (New Devils MC Book 2) Page 4
“What was that all about?” I asked. “That whole deal with Alvarez.”
“It’s a thing he likes to do,” she said. “He wants to trick tournament winners into seeing if they can make the right decision.”
“The right decision would’ve been to say that I had the best hand.”
“No,” she said, shaking her head. “That’s what the odds would say. But it only looks that way.”
I narrowed my eyes at her. Even though I’d known Faye since we were younger, it’d been a long time since we last spoke. I had to be skeptical.
“Why would he pull some shit like that?”
“He’s in good with the man who owns the club,” Faye said. “A man named James Emerson. They work together. Something to do with drugs.”
“Not surprising…”
“It’s in the club’s best interests to get the money back from tournament winners. That’s what Alvarez says, anyway.”
I shook my head at the thought of it.
“Casinos never like it when a player hustles ‘em,” I said. “I’ve been kicked out of enough of ‘em to know that. But that’s one hell of a fuckin’ scam.”
I narrowed my eyes at her, trying to get a read on her.
“Why’d you do that?” I said. “Why’d you help me?”
“Because I’m your friend, Hunter. I’ve always been your friend.”
She took a seat on the couch right next to me.
I looked into her eyes, still trying to make sure that it was really her. Everything about her felt right. Everything looked right, too. But something was off.
“What’s wrong?” she said. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“How the hell did you end up working for a man like Alvarez? The Faye I knew wouldn’t be caught dead doing some shit like that.”
She put her head down and looked away from me. I’d known her long enough to tell when she didn’t wanna talk about something. But even then, I didn’t need to be a fucking mind reader to see that something was distracting her.
“It doesn’t matter,” she said. “What are you doing here, Hunter?”
Faye looked back up at me. She widened her eyes, waiting for my response.
“It doesn’t matter,” I said.
“Oh, I think it does. The last time I heard about you, you were in jail—”
“I was in jail. Not anymore.”
She reached out and put a hand on top of mine. Feeling her touch made me realize just how long it’d been since I’d seen her.
“I know something’s wrong,” she said.
“And just how do you know that?”
“Because I know you. The way you walked out… Jail… It doesn’t look like you have things straightened out.”
I chuckled to myself, shaking my head as I pulled my hand away.
“That won’t work on me,” I said. “We’re not teenagers anymore.”
“What does it matter how old we are now? I’m still your friend.”
“Stop fuckin’ saying that—”
“I helped you win against Alvarez. You would’ve lost everything tonight if it wasn’t for me.”
Goddammit…
I looked away from her. I knew she had me. Now I owed her.
“Look,” I said. “It’s nothing you need to get involved in.”
“But there’s something I can do, isn’t there?”
Faye’s face softened with a slight frown.
When I was younger, I’d look at Faye’s face nearly every single day. She was pretty but she was always just my friend more than anything else. I never acted on anything.
Looking at her now, she was a little more mature. She maintained that class that she always had compared to all of the sluts and whores I usually hooked up with.
It wasn’t just about what I saw though. I could feel something in my stomach. Maybe it was just the liquor talking to me but whatever it was, it was getting to me.
She leaned forward and put her hand back down on my thigh. Her pale skin was so clean like polished porcelain. In the dim-lighting of my hotel room, the focus in her stare started to grow.
“Hunter—”
I stopped thinking.
I rushed my face forward and kissed her. My tongue shoved into her mouth and found hers. She gasped in surprise.
Faye pulled away from me with a gasp. Her eyes wide, she stared at me in complete shock.
Shit…
I hated trying to read women. Shit was harder than trying to guess someone’s poker hand.
Faye just sat there, her eyes unblinking. The only part of her that moved was her chest as she took deep breaths.
But she didn’t say anything. Silence filled the room again. I waited for her to stop me. I waited for her to hit me. I waited for her to complain.
But it didn’t come. Nothing came.
I was in complete control.
I put my mouth back on hers. Her resistance fell and my tongue found its way back between her teeth. Sloppy kisses echoed through the hotel room, bouncing off the walls and filling my ears. I trailed my mouth down her cheek and onto her neck. She groaned in ecstasy as she ran her fingers through my hair.
I’d thought about this before. I thought about the way she tasted, the way she smelled, the noises she would make when I kissed her. Now it was all fucking happening.
“Hunter…”
She sighed my name. At this point, I would’ve run through a brick wall to get to her.
I stood up straight on the couch just long enough to peel my jacket off. I tossed it to the side and I was back on her.
While my tongue glided into her mouth, my hands roamed onto her breasts. I squeezed her through her top and forced a gasp out of her. She moaned into my mouth, making our kisses even messier. I kept moving my hand down until I was able to dig it down into her skirt.
I rubbed past her smooth mound and found her clit. It was already swollen to the point that it wasn’t much trouble to find. I rubbed it with my middle finger. She let out a sharp gasp and her back arched in surprise. I wrapped my other arm around her and held her in place.
“Hunter…”
“You like that?”
“Y-yes…”
Stuttered breaths made me wanna give it to her just how she wanted it. I pulled away from her and looked into her eyes as I kept fingering her. Those green eyes of hers. I’d seen them so many times but only now did they look so fucking gorgeous.
I slid my finger down and felt her pussy. I pushed into her folds and felt just how wet she was.
“Goddamn…”
I couldn’t fucking help myself. I was already backed up because it’d been a few days since the last broad I was with. But Faye was more intoxicating than any woman I’d ever been with. Feeling how wet her pussy was would’ve made any man go crazy.
I pumped my finger into her. She was so wet and so tender. When I pushed my finger in deep enough, she arched her back again in agony.
“Hunter…”
I kept fucking her with my long digit to the point that the wet sound of my hand on her filled the room.
I couldn’t fucking take it. My cock was throbbing so bad in my jeans that it was painful.
I pulled my hand out of her skirt and panties and stood up straight. While I undid my jeans, I watched as Faye reached underneath her skirt. She pulled down the black lace panties she was wearing down to her ankles. They snapped off of her and fell to the ground.
My jeans fell to the floor and my underwear followed. My cock was painfully swollen at this point, aimed right at her.
Faye kept staring into my eyes like she couldn’t believe. Shit, I couldn’t believe it. Faye pulled her skirt up and spread her legs on the couch to reveal that pink pussy that I’d dreamed about so many times but never thought I’d actually see.
She was dripping wet on the cushions. It looked like she was in just as much pain as I was.
“Fuck me, Hunter…”
Words I never thought I’d hear.
I couldn’t get back on top of her fast enough. I kissed her deeply, shoving my tongue into her mouth so that I could taste her.
I still had my shirt on. My jeans and boxers were at my ankles. Faye had her top on. The same with her skirt. It didn’t matter. Another second to take off our clothes would’ve been a second too long.
I lined myself up with the wetness coming from between her legs. A wet pussy just fucking calling out to my dick. I pressed my tip to her folds and plunged myself in.
“Oh…”
“Fuck!”
I grunted and gritted my teeth as her pussy sucked me in. She was so wet. The soft walls of her pussy invited me in. It felt so good that I could’ve lost myself immediately if I wanted to.
But I wanted her to enjoy this as much as I was enjoying it.
I raised up and gripped her ankles as I started to fuck her. Long, slow, forceful strokes made her rock back and forth on the couch. I looked down at her and admired the view of my full length disappearing inside of her. I’d slide back out to see my shaft coated with her before plunging myself back in.
I started grunting harder as my thrusts got deeper. I wanted Faye to feel every fucking inch of me.
From the look on her face, that was definitely happening. Lip biting. Eyes fluttering open and closed. Hands digging at the couch cushions. Breaths heavy. Faye was enjoying every second of this.
Damn…
She was so fucking beautiful. The woman I knew from all those years ago had grown-up into something even more amazing. And she was right here in front of me, legs spread and pussy wet.
I started banging myself into her even harder. My hilt slammed against her folds. Our flesh smacked together. The couch squeaked underneath us. She started squealing in delight.
“Yes! Yes! Yes! Just like that… Fuck! Yes! Yes!”
Faye had a surprisingly filthy mouth. She was always so prim and proper. Hearing her talk that way made it impossible for me to hold back.
“Mmm… Fuck… I’m gonna come…”
“Come with me, Hunter… Come with me…”
I was pounding her so hard like I was trying to break the couch. My mind was overcome by my lust for her. I was fucking desperate to come inside of her.
Faye reached down with her fingers and started rubbing her clit, bringing herself closer to her own orgasm.
I let go of her ankles and pressed my forehead to hers. We locked our stares on one another as we tried to get closer to the edge.
“Come inside of me…”
“Is that what you want, Faye?”
“That’s what I want… Hunter, give it to me… Fucking…”
She cut herself off when her body suddenly seized up. She stopped breathing for a second before suddenly shouting.
“Fuck!”
She cried out and started to convulse underneath me. Her walls throbbed around my cock. She was so tight that I couldn’t hold back.
All of the cum building up inside of me forced its way out like a dam bursting. I exploded with a thick line of my seed. I shuddered on top of her as more and more of my cum emptied out of me. Faye took it all, coming so fucking hard against me that it almost hurt.
I buried myself as deep as I could before I was completely drained. I laid on top of her. She breathed softly underneath me. The sweet scent of her sweat filled my nostrils. The way she felt. The way she sounded. The way she smelled. Everything about her intoxicated me.
But my mind was clear enough for me to know that it was over.
I pulled out and sank in my seat. Faye slowly pushed herself up and leaned up against the couch cushions.
I took a moment to gather myself before finally turning toward her.
I won some money because of her. I fucked her. I knew that I could trust her.
“I have to get back to work,” she said.
She got up from her seat and searched for her panties. She straightened her outfit out then redid her hair in a bun. I didn’t say anything as I watched her.
“I’ll talk to you later,” she said. “Maybe tomorrow night.”
“Yeah. Sure. Whatever.”
I looked away from her and stared at the wall in front of me. I could feel Faye’s eyes on me but I ignored her until she finally walked out of the room.
My thoughts were scattered trying to go over everything that just happened. There was a reason I was here in Ivory. With Faye here, I couldn’t keep it from her for much longer.
I sighed because I knew that shit just got more complicated.
Chapter 6
FAYE
Hunter always got a lot of attention. Back then, girls would always ask me about him because they’d see me spending time around him. Girls didn’t have any shame. I had no idea who they were but they would still tell me to put in a good word for them.
I couldn’t really blame them for acting the way they did. I would’ve been lying if I didn’t admit that Hunter was a good-looking guy, even though I was dating someone else. Hunter always had that rugged appeal. His demeanor was so carefree that it was understandable that girls had a thing for him.
Now that he was a few years older, all it did was make him more handsome than when I last saw him. His hair was a little longer. The tattoos were new. His five-o’clock shadow was a little darker. No doubt he attracted the same kind of attention now that he did back then.
I wasn’t an exception.
Seeing him again brought back feelings I didn’t realize I had. I always cared about Hunter. There was no denying that. But something came over me to the point that I just spread my legs for him without even thinking.
I was never like that. Guys had to work hard just to imagine what it was like to be with me. Yet here was Hunter. The first night we’d seen each other since he said goodbye to me all those years ago… And we did something I’d never even thought about before.
“Faye!”
Fingers snapping woke me from the daydream I was in. I turned and saw the disgruntled look on Alvarez’s face before he turned his attention back to his work.
“Where’s my lunch?” he grumbled.
“I’m sorry,” I said. “It’s right here.”
I grabbed the tray of food and brought it over to his desk. He pushed his papers aside just enough for me to place it down in front of him.
Alvarez indulged himself in everything he did. Women. Drugs. Alcohol. Gambling. Food wasn’t an exception. I got used to ordering him enough to feed more than one person. Today, it was a couple of sandwiches and enough french fries that would make you wonder where it all went.
“Good,” he said, smacking his lips. “I’m starving.”
He picked up one of his sandwiches and took a massive bite out of it. He chewed with his mouth open and swallowed without really savoring it much.
“Is there anything else you need?” I asked.
“Have a seat,” he said. “There’s something I wanna talk to you about.”
“Of course.”
I sat down in front of his desk and looked out the window.
Alvarez had an office inside Eden. The place was as lavish and spacious as you would’ve expected. He conducted most of his business deals in his office, both legitimate and under the table. I wasn’t privy to the details but it wasn’t exactly a big secret. I didn’t care one way or the other, really.
Eden was right on the border between Holt and Ivory. I couldn’t help but think about what Hunter was up to right now back in Ivory. He was only just a few miles away.
“Faye!”
My boss barked my name at me. I nearly jumped in my seat.
He eyeballed me as he chewed his food. He licked the sauce on his mustache then took another bite.
“What’s going on with you today?” he said with his mouth full. “First you forget one of my meetings. Then you nearly forget my lunch. Something wrong?”
“No,” I said as I shook my head. “I’m fine.”
“I’ve got some important meetings coming up. I can’t affor
d to miss a meeting with one of my clients. I don’t have an opportunity to meet with these people very often.”
“I understand. It won’t happen again.”
“It’d better not.”
He stuffed a fistful of french fries into his mouth then washed it down with a half a glass of scotch. Alvarez didn’t care what he looked like because the money he had was enough to make everybody get past his looks.
I sat patiently in my seat, my hands rested in my lap as I waited for his direction. Alvarez finally swallowed his bite down and sighed to catch his breath.
“That guy last night,” he said. “Jacobson… What was that?”
“What was what, sir?”
“You were talking to him outside of the lounge. Don’t pretend like you weren’t. I have people.”
“Oh… I…”
What do I say?
I hesitated for a second. I couldn’t outright tell him that I helped Hunter win. There was no telling what Alvarez would do.
“I was just congratulating him,” I said. “It’s not often that people are able to make the right call when you present it to them.”
“Yes… You know… It’s a funny thing…”
Alvarez leaned back in his seat, his eyes narrowed at me.
“…It almost sounded like he was gonna choose his own hand. But then he stopped. Why do you think he did that?”
My boss was eyeballing me so hard like he was trying to get me to break. I swallowed anxiously to steady myself and shrugged.
“I’m not much of a card player,” I said with a laugh. “Maybe he just changed his mind. Gambler’s intuition, I think they call it.”
“There’s no such thing as gambler’s intuition.”
“I guess that shows you how much I know.”
I laughed nervously. Alvarez kept the examination up before finally turning his attention back to the rest of his lunch. I sighed softly through my nose when he relaxed in his seat and picked up one of his sandwiches.
He took another bite and spoke with his mouth full again.
“It’s all right. Some people are gonna win some money at the casino. That’s just how the business works. We’ll get someone else eventually.”
“That’s right. Whatever you lose, you make double from the next guy.”
